Another Metal Smith in the Family!

My 11 year old son has made his first ring...

He picked the stone, cut the stone, ground and polished the stone.  He then designed a ring using copper and sterling silver.  With his father as teacher-he got lessons in cutting sterling sheet, soldering, stone setting and band making.  Check out the rest of the pictures of his finished ring...

He created this ring for his aunt Kelly-who I am sure will treasure it for the rest of her life!

Wow! That is so amazing, i wish i could make jewellery like that at age 11! I was only doing fimo jewellery! Tell him well done, its really cool seeing creative children. :-) If he sticks at it just imagine the quality of his work at 15 or 18 or 21! Give him a pat on the back from me from New Zealand! x
