Handmade Features -Great Gifts For Under $10!!!

Before I start with this weeks features, I wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone who came out to the Sermon Center.  We have done that show for 5 or 6 years now and 2009 was our best yet-Thank you for that!!!
A quick note about our upcoming show after Thanksgiving:
Instead of spending your whole day at the mall, come out and spend a day in Jamesport, Missouri!  Jamesport is a small town nestled in the rolling hills of Northwestern Missouri. The town flourished in the 19th century until the main railroad route across the heartland drove through Kansas City, leaving towns like Jamesport off the beaten path and slowly fading into history.
Today Jamesport is reinventing itself and blossoming into a tourist destination that features a nostalgic slice of history.
Jamesport is also home to Missouri's largest Amish community and hosts a large number of both Amish and English shops and activities that cater to tourists wanting to return to days gone past. Come step back in time and join us here in our heartland paradise.

Best Little Arts & Crafts Show

The City of Independence Parks and Recreation Department will host the 27th annual Best Little Arts & Crafts Show on Friday and Saturday, November 20 and 21.

Get started on your holiday shopping by browsing through four floors with more than 120 booths offering a wide variety of arts and crafts. The craft show, held in the Roger T. Sermon Community Center, 201 N. Dodgion Ave., features both local and regional vendors, all selling original wares.

Show hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, November 20 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, November 21. There is no admission fee for shoppers. A food booth is offered by City Theatre of Independence as a fund raiser for their organization.

A free shuttle service will be available for shoppers. To catch the shuttle, park in the lot on the northwest corner of Truman Road and Main Street. The shuttle will pick up shoppers on the hour and half hour from 10 a.m. – 7: 30 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. – 6: 30 p.m. on Saturday.  The Sermon Center is located on the southeast corner of Truman and Noland Roads in Independence.

Just up the street on Main, is Scandinavia Place, the fabulous shop that carries our jewelry!  I just stocked it with all new bracelets, crystal necklaces, more earrings and some new dichroic glass pendants.  Don't forget to check it out while you are over that way!

We also openend a Artfire Shop at: http://jennyalexander.artfire.com/.  Just a small shop to see how it goes for now.  Check us out!
